What is an IRC Bouncer?
An IRC bouncer is essentially a persistent proxy to connect yourself (your client) to an IRC server. The main goal is to have a constant connection to the IRC server and retrieve (and log) all messages in your channels and queries. In case your client is not connected to your bouncer, messages will be cached and will be played towards your client(s) on your next connect.
It also helps obfuscating your external IP address, since the only address visible to users on the IRC server would be the one of your IRC bouncer instead of your actual clients.
